former member convicted Red Army Faction (RAF) terrorist, Eva Haule, was released from German prison on Tuesday. Haule spent 21 years behind bars for her role in the murder of U.S. serviceman, Edward Pimental and the bombing of the US Rhein-Main military air base. She was previously convicted in 1998 of “membership in a terrorist organization and weapons possession.”
Another RAF member, Brigitte Mohnhaup was released March 25 of this year. However, German president, Horst Kohler, has refused clemency for two other members, Christian Klar and Birgit Hogefeld – who was given a life sentence for taking part in the bombing with Haule. Between 1970 and 1991, the RAF is believed to have carried out 34 murders, largely of industrial leaders and senior public figures. They remain heroes to elements of the loony left.
